How we handle the information you send us

We collect only what we need to answer your request and, if you hire us, to do the work. Here's exactly what that means.

We collect what you type into the form, and a few details that stop spam

Your name, phone number, email if you give it, postal code, what happened and anything else you write. We also record which page you sent it from, when, and how long the page was open, and we count taps on our email link. We don't use advertising trackers or sell anything about you.

To limit repeated or automated sending, we keep a code made from your internet address and a secret key, not the address itself. Our hosting provider's logs, kept for up to 7 days, may include the address.

We use it to reply to you and, if you hire us, to do and record the work

We use your details to get back to you about this request, to arrange a visit, and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work, keep its records and send you paperwork. We won't add you to a mailing list or send you marketing.

The companies that host our website, systems and email handle it for us, some of them outside Canada

Our website and its form run on Cloudflare. Requests go to the software we use to run our office, hosted by Railway; notification emails are sent through SendGrid; and our email is hosted by Google. These companies may store or process information in the United States as well as Canada. They handle it only to provide their service to us.

We keep a request for two years after we last talk about it, unless it becomes a job

If a request doesn't lead to work, we delete it two years after our last contact about it. If it does, we keep the job's records as long as tax and legal requirements say, then delete them.

You can see, correct or remove what we hold about you

Write to our privacy officer at office@steadyhandrestoration.ca and we'll tell you what we hold, fix anything that's wrong, or delete it if we no longer need it. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
